John 3:16-18
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. “He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God…
Listen:
“Whoever believes in Him” I ask and wonder, “Can a person believe in Him and also be disloyal to Him? Can a person believe and not repent for their sins? Can one believe and continue doing whatever they want? Do you believe in Him if you are your own master? If you are your own God, does God allow that, for a time? I do believe at one point in a Christian’s life, it is imperative that they submit their life to Christ completely. God expects us to move from infants of God to mature sons of God.
What does true believing mean? Perhaps it just means putting faith in Him and in His ways rather than your own. The next verse helps answer these questions:
John 3:19-21
And this is the judgement: The light has come into the world, and people loved darkness rather than the light because their deeds were evil. For everyone who does evil hates the light and avoids it, so that his deeds may not be exposed. But anyone who lives by the truth comes to the light, so that his works may be shown to be accomplished by God.”
Listen:
If you say you believe in God but live by the world in dark and sinful ways, then you aren’t living by the truth. Living by the truth means coming into the light from out of the darkness. But IF one truly lives by the truth, (God’s way not his own way) then the light he comes into will show more clearly that what Jesus has done was an act of saving us by God’s supreme love for us. His mercy and loving-kindness is plentiful. Return to Him and be lovingly welcomed into the arms of the Heavenly Father!
My Story:
I was once a worldly Christian. I lived my life according to what I wanted to do and according to what the world wanted me to do. It opened a lot of doors for demons to have legal ground to influence and afflict my life. Although it took time, once I started serving Jesus instead of myself, died to my selfish ways and desires and began living for Him and drinking in the Word daily as I was guided by the Holy Spirit, my life was transformed and continues to be transformed. I came out from underneath the darkness of curses and entered into the promises of Abraham. It was an exhilarating experience! I pray that for all Christians and also unbelievers to truly believe in Jesus and have the amazing transformation that happens by truly surrendering our lives to our Master and Lord Jesus Christ.
In Jesus Name.
