As a Christian, I was wrapped in barbed wire but I didn’t know that it was demonic affliction. I thought something was wrong with my emotional and mental state. After Jesus released me from demons, he immediately in the same moment led me to the realization that I had been under demonic influence and torment allowed in by perpetual sin taught, indirectly, by false pastors, teachers and preachers that I had listened to my whole life. Through a back door, the false church taught me how to let in demons into my life because they taught me it was okay to sin because we are all sinners–and to not worry because through Jesus’ blood we are cleansed of all sin–sin in the past, present and future. Although Jesus’ blood does cleanse us of our sins (Praise Jesus), it does not give us permission to sin. I did not learn to confess sin regularly and I didn’t understand what repentance meant. I abused God’s grace as it is written in Jude about false teachers…”For certain individuals whose condemnation was written about long ago have secretly slipped in among you. They are ungodly people, who pervert the grace of our God and turn it into a license for immorality and deny Jesus Christ our only Sovereign and Lord.” I do acknowledge that if I had just picked up a Bible and read it with the guidance of the Holy Spirit, I would have known the truth, but instead I relied on man… and man did not tell me the whole truth.
Let us fast forward to when I was released from this demonic affliction. After suffering for years and finally seeking Jesus as my only healer, He set me free and I then knew that many people in the Body of Christ are also under the same false understanding of God’s Grace. They, too, are under demonic curses and afflictions. I was given the ability to see the body of Christ in this terrible condition after I was released and set free by Jesus. I saw the body of Christ being in chains and that they were paralyzed from being able to speak, act, or fight for the Lord, preventing them from being able to accomplish their purpose for which God made them.
At first I wondered, Lord, how can Your body be in chains? The devil can’t put You in chains. He answered me, “When my body suffers, I feel it.” I can’t explain how I received this understanding based on those words He gave me, but I instantly understood that these shackles are put on Jesus’ body not by Satan but by His own members through their perpetual sin and rebellion and unwillingness to submit to Him to be set free. His own body puts His body in chains! The frustrating thing about this for me is that most of the people who are under demonic affliction don’t realize that their suffering is actually demonic strongholds and they don’t understand that their lack of repentance and their perpetual sin (relying on God’s grace as a free ticket to sin based on false teaching) is what is putting the chains tighter and tighter on them. There are many “church-goers” who are doing what is right in their own eyes but are giving no regard to what the Lord is wanting them to do. They serve themselves yet think and say they are serving the Lord. This rebellion is because of false teaching of leaders and also the pride and self-centeredness of the individual. Many people want to believe what the preachers are teaching because it serves their purpose and comfort. However, there are people who if they knew the truth, would cry out, “Lord, what have I done? Forgive me! I repent!” I pray God will have mercy on them and they will be led to the light as He has led me.
During the time period of all of this realization regarding the body of Christ, God gave me a flashback of a scene in the film, Legends of the Fall. I try to no longer watch many secular movies unless the Lord guides me to watch one, but He will use our past experiences to give us knowledge and understanding. If you have ever seen this movie, there is a scene where both Tristan and his younger brother Samual are in war. Tristan went to war to look after his younger brother who was determined to fight in the war. At one point, they are separated and Tristan is trying to reach him. At last, Tristan sees Samuel running in what Samuel thinks is the right direction (like many church-going Christians are doing). Samuel thinks he is running away from the enemy. On the contrary, though, he is running into the enemy’s trap of barbed wire and there he gets heavily caught and entangled. God gave me this flashback to tell me that many people in the Body of Christ are tied up in a barbed wire fence, like Samuel. Our brothers and sisters are in the battle but they don’t know how dire their circumstances are. They are in a forest, caught in barbed wire–in a war–and are sitting ducks for the enemy’s arrows or bullets–they hear their brothers and sisters warning them and calling for them, trying to teach them and help them and guide them to the truth, but although they hear us, they can’t understand us, they are blinded and confused by the smoke gas that the enemy has thrown at them. Their pride, sins, and their refusal to see that they possibly could be affected by demons are the elements (like the barbed wire) holding them up and keeping them steady so Satan and the demons can have a perfect, steady shot to destroy them.
I wept and wept when He gave me this vision. I wept because I had already experienced some of my brothers and sisters in Christ not able to hear my testimony that explained as Christians, through sin, we can allow demons into our minds and bodies to torment us and have a hold on us. I have already seen that my brothers and sisters are confused by the gas and smoke in their eyes, that they can smile, like Samuel did when he heard Tristan’s voice, likewise, when they hear my voice they can smile, but they are so disoriented, they don’t know how to get free from their situation and worse yet, they don’t want to believe they are even in that situation. I cry for my fellow brothers and sisters because I know they are under great torment. I also know the danger they are under to be vulnerable without the spiritual weapons to fight the enemy, things will only get worse.
Tristan was unable to save his brother from the enemy’s trap, but Praise God that we do have a Savior able to save us from the enemy’s snares. It is Christ Jesus, our Messiah, our King. He is the ONLY way to be free from the death of sin. He died on the cross and rose again so that sin can have no victory over us! He can deliver us and rescue us from these sins that cause such torment by the enemy. If you truly seek Him and truly repent and are desperate to be delivered, He will set you free! Persevere in your efforts in working out your salvation. Even if you have been a Christian most of your life, there is still a growth and development in Christ that must happen. He expects us to seek Him and submit to Him, not just once in our life, but every single day. Praise Jesus, I know the taste of freedom is sweet and beautiful. I am now able to help advance God’s Kingdom for His purpose with armour and weapons from God that I try to wear and utilize by the power of the Holy Spirit every day. I want this freedom and armor for my brothers and sisters and I pray for it.
In the Name of Yeshua, King of all Kings, Almighty God and Savior. Amen!
